Training for University Staff

Identifying and Responding to Distressed and At-Risk Students Training for University Staff: This training is aimed at all higher education staff. It is intended that this training will provide all staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to help a student if they are concerned for their welfare. This project has been funded by the HEA; content has been developed by Psychological Counsellors in Higher Education Ireland (PCHEI).

The training consists of 2 interactive online trainings and 1 in-person training with the aim of enhancing awareness and providing the tools and skills for staff to listen, support and refer.  Module 3 is an in-person workshop-based training, which will use content from Modules 1 and 2 to open discussions and group interaction, providing opportunities to role play scenarios, and to practice the skills they have learned. Module 3 will be delivered by the ATU Student Counselling Services.
